DJI Avata 360 rumored for a winter release

DJI looks set to take its FPV lineup to new heights with what could be its first true 360-degree drone, the DJI Avata 360. Reliable leakers, including Jasper Ellens and Igor Bodanov, have shared new promotional images that appear to show a production-ready model, and the early signs are impressive.

The Avata 360 is expected to combine DJI’s first-person flight experience with immersive 360 capture, giving creators the ability to both fly and film in every direction. If the rumors hold, this would be a first for DJI and a direct response to Insta360’s Antigravity A1, which made headlines earlier this year.

DJI Avata 360 release date speculation

Nothing is official yet, but several insiders speculate the Avata 360 could launch before Christmas, possibly with a base price around $1,199 / €1,199.

DJI has a history of reacting quickly to competitors, as seen with the Neo and Osmo series, so a pre-holiday release would make strategic sense, especially for creators looking to capture the festive season in full 360.

The leaked images show multiple obstacle sensors, including front and side visual cameras, along with LiDAR-assisted safety. This setup suggests the Avata 360 will deliver omnidirectional sensing and tracking, potentially allowing it to follow subjects like cyclists or vehicles with improved precision.

Flight control will reportedly be compatible with DJI’s Motion 3 controller and Goggles N3, while footage transmission could use OcuSync 4.0 or even the next-gen O4+ protocol, based on the gear visible in the teaser images.
