After months of leaks and speculation, DJI has officially launched the Osmo Action 6 globally. The announcement follows its initial debut in China a few days earlier, mirroring the company’s recent release pattern with the DJI Neo 2.

Larger 1/1.1-Inch Sensor and the First Variable Aperture in an Action Camera

The sixth-generation Osmo Action introduces one of the most significant upgrades the action camera market has seen in years: an industry-first F/2.0–4.0 variable aperture lens paired with a 1/1.1-inch square-format sensor. The sensor is 40% larger than the one in the Osmo Action 5, and with a faster F/2.0 maximum aperture, low-light performance should see a meaningful improvement.

The mechanical variable aperture allows shooters to control depth of field and exposure without relying on ND filters. DJI says the camera can automatically choose the appropriate aperture based on the shooting scenario.

At F/2.0, the lens gathers twice as much light as the previous model’s fixed F/2.8 aperture. At F/4.0, users gain more depth of field and better control in bright scenes.

The square sensor is also designed with flexibility in mind, enabling seamless switching between horizontal, vertical, and cropped formats. DJI claims the updated sensor delivers up to 13.5 stops of dynamic range.

4K at 120 fps — Still

While the rest of the camera receives major upgrades, DJI has kept the maximum recording mode at 4K 120p, mirroring the previous generation. Competing cameras like the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 now offer 8K30 (albeit without Log support), making this an interesting decision on DJI’s part.

Taking advantage of the square sensor, DJI introduces 4K Free Cut, a shoot-first, crop-later mode that lets creators reframe their footage into 4:3, 16:9, or 9:16 vertical formats during editing. This adds considerable flexibility for social media, YouTube, and multi-platform workflows.

Stabilization, Battery, and Build Upgrades

The Osmo Action 6 features RockSteady 3.0+, along with HorizonBalancing and HorizonSteady modes. All stabilization features are available across resolutions, though some advanced modes have frame rate limitations at higher settings.

The camera uses a 1,950 mAh Li-ion battery, capable of recording up to 240 minutes of 1080p/24fps footage. DJI says the camera is designed to operate reliably from –20°C to 45°C. A full charge takes about 52 minutes with a 30W charger, and an optional 4,900 mAh extended battery is available for longer sessions.

The Osmo Action 6 supports OsmoAudio, allowing wireless connection to two DJI microphone transmitters. It also includes three internal mics that capture stereo audio at 48 kHz 16-bit AAC.

A 1.46-inch front touchscreen and 2.5-inch rear OLED display provide dual-screen operation. The camera is waterproof to 20 meters without a housing, or 60 meters with the optional dive case. The body weighs 149 grams, only 3 grams heavier than the previous generation.

Pricing and Availability

The DJI Osmo Action 6 is available for pre-order for $379 in the Standard Combo from B&H. The Adventure Combo, which includes additional batteries, a battery case, and a selfie stick, is priced at $479.

A variety of optional accessories are also available separately.

Bottom Line

The DJI Mic 2 is ideal for podcasters and mobile filmmakers/content creators who want clear sound and flexible recording options on the go.

Reasons to Buy
  • 32-bit float recording preserves full dynamic range
  • Reliable 250m (820ft) wireless transmission
  • Compact design with included charging case
Reasons to Avoid
  • Pricier than entry-level lav mics
  • Noise canceling can slightly compress natural tone
  • Receiver screen can be hard to see in sunlight

The standout feature here is 32-bit float internal recording, which gives you a huge safety net when recording dialogue. Even if you’re shooting in a loud environment or your subject suddenly raises their voice, the file won’t clip.

The 820 ft. (250m) range also helps if you’re filming wide scenes, shooting outdoors, or stepping away from the camera for demonstrations. And with DJI’s improved noise-cancelling, you get get crisp, broadcast-quality sound even in windy or busy locations.

Who Is This Deal For and Is It a Good Time to Buy?

If you’re a podcaster or mobile filmmakers/content creator who wants a reliable, compact mic setup, this deal is for you. It offers better recording and range than most budget mics, and at $129, it’s cheaper than many competing single-mic kits.

Since this is the lowest price we’ve seen for this mic on Amazon, it’s a smart pickup. Also, this is a pre–Black Friday price and stock tends to disappear the closer we get to the holiday rush. So this early drop is worth jumping on if you’ve been waiting to upgrade your audio setup.

DJI Air 3

(DJI RC-N2), Drone with Medium Tele & Wide-Angle Dual Primary Cameras, 46-Min Max Flight Time, Omnidirectional Obstacle Sensing, 48MP Photos, 4K/60fps HDR, Compliance with FAA

DJI Air 3 is one the best all-around drones DJI makes. It’s made for professional photographers and filmmakers, and serious enthusiasts who want flagship performance (Dual primary cameras + 4K/60fps HDR + 48MP photos) without buying into the heavier pro-level line.

This deal arrives weeks before the Black Friday rush. And given how fast DJI drones (especially when discounted) typically sell out, grabbing it early is a smart move.

Why the DJI Air 3 Stands Out

pro-grade

Bottom Line

A dual-camera drone built for serious creators. If you want pro-level footage, long flight times, and smarter obstacle avoidance in a compact airframe, this is the drone for you.

Reasons to Buy
  • Dual primary cameras: wide + medium tele
  • 46-minute flight time
  • Omnidirectional obstacle sensing
  • 4K/60fps HDR + 48MP photos
Reasons to Avoid
  • Not as small as the Mini series
  • Extra batteries add to overall cost
Specifications
  • Cameras: 24mm wide + 70mm medium tele
  • Resolution: 4K/60 HDR, 48MP stills
  • Flight Time: Up to 46 minutes
  • Sensing: Omnidirectional vision + APAS
  • Remote: DJI RC-N2

What sets the Air 3 apart is its dual-camera system, which literally gives you two top-notch lenses in the sky.

The 24mm wide-angle camera is perfect for landscapes, building flyovers, or travel footage, while the 70mm medium-tele camera adds compression and depth, something content creators appreciate when shooting people or tighter scenes. You can switch between focal lengths instantly, which means more flexible shooting options.

The 46-minute flight time means you don’t need to constantly land for a battery swap. Add in omnidirectional obstacle sensing, and you get a drone that offers pro-level performance without the premium price tag.

Who Is This Deal For and Is It a Good Time to Buy?

If you’re a filmmaker, content creator, or traveler looking for a pro-level drone but without the premium price tag, the DJI Air 3 bundle is a great pick. And with the current $150 discount, this 4k drone is even more affordable.

This early pre–Black Friday discount is already one of the biggest price drops we’ve seen on the Air 3 this year. That said, DJI drones don’t typically get big price cuts during the main Black Friday weekend. And when they do, inventory tends to disappear fast.

So if you’ve been meaning to upgrade your drone kit lately, this is a good time.

After debuting in Asia two weeks ago, DJI’s new ultralight Neo 2 drone is now available globally. However, it remains unavailable in the United States due to ongoing FCC regulatory hurdles.

“DJI remains committed to the U.S. market and serving our U.S.-based customers. Like many global companies, we’ve had to adjust our market strategies as the local conditions and industry environment have evolved,” DJI spokesperson Daisy Kong told The Verge.

Major Upgrades in the Neo 2

The Neo 2 introduces several significant improvements over its predecessor, making it one of DJI’s most advanced sub-250g drones yet. The standout feature is the addition of a front-facing LiDAR sensor and an omnidirectional obstacle avoidance system. This gives pilots more confidence when flying and provides added safety for autonomous flights.

Another notable enhancement is the larger 1/2-inch CMOS sensor paired with a faster f/2.2 lens, delivering superior image quality and better low-light performance. The Neo 2 now supports 4K 60p recording, or up to 4K 100fps in slow-motion mode when using a controller. The new two-axis gimbal ensures smoother movement and creative control for dynamic aerial shots.

DJI has fine-tuned the Neo 2’s handling and flight characteristics. The drone now reaches speeds of up to 27 mph, has improved wind resistance, and offers a slightly longer flight time compared to the original Neo.

New gesture controls make it possible to issue hands-free commands such as adjusting altitude or distance when flying without a remote. The Neo 2 also supports optional antennas for stronger signal stability and works with DJI’s RC-N3 and Motion 3 controllers, allowing for greater precision and responsiveness during flight.

DJI Neo 2 Pricing and Availability

The DJI Neo 2 is now available in most markets worldwide, excluding the U.S. The standard bundle retails for €239 in Europe and can be purchased directly from the DJI online store or through major retailers such as WEX Photo and London Camera Exchange in the UK or Amazon in Canada.

In Canada, the Neo 2 Standard Bundle is officially listed at $229 USD before tax, though DJI notes that this should not be used as an indicator of U.S. pricing once it eventually launches stateside. You can also purchase the Fly More Combo with the additional batteries or the Fly More Combo With RC-N3 Remote Controller

Some U.S. retailers may offer the Neo 2 through unofficial channels, similar to how the Mavic 4 Pro has appeared on Amazon and B&H. However, DJI has not confirmed whether it will honor warranties for units purchased from unauthorized U.S. sellers. For any warranty-related concerns, DJI recommends that customers contact its support team to verify if their case qualifies for repair.

DJI has just released a teaser for a new product launch scheduled for November 18, 2025, at 7 a.m. ET. The teaser carries the caption “Square up, nail the move,” which may hint at the design or sensor shape of the upcoming product — fueling speculation that it refers to a square sensor action camera.

The teaser image itself shows what appears to be the lens of a square-shaped camera, subtly confirming earlier rumors about the next addition to DJI’s action camera lineup.

The Osmo Action 6 Is Likely Incoming

Although DJI hasn’t explicitly named the product, multiple sources — including DroneXL and DJI Rumors — have confirmed that the teaser points to the upcoming DJI Osmo Action 6.

Leaks suggest that the Osmo Action 6 will feature a larger 1/1.1-inch square CMOS sensor, an upgrade from the 1/1.3-inch sensor in the previous model. The camera is also expected to sport a variable aperture lens ranging from F/2.0 to F/4.0, a feature rarely seen in action cameras and a significant leap for creative control and low-light performance.

Key Features and Specs (Leaked)

According to early reports, the Osmo Action 6 will be capable of recording 8K video at 30fps, matching the capabilities of the Insta360 Ace Pro 2. It will also include dual OLED displays — one on the front and another on the back — allowing users to monitor framing and settings from any angle.

Battery life is expected to improve, with a 1,950 mAh battery providing extended recording times. Pricing is rumored to start at around $329, which would make it a compelling alternative to other flagship action cameras in its class.

Possible U.S. Availability

DJI has faced ongoing challenges launching new products in the United States this year. The Mavic 4 Pro and Mini 5 Pro, for instance, were not officially released in the country due to regulatory hurdles.

However, there may be hope for the Osmo Action 6. Unlike those drones, DJI’s U.S. website already has a dedicated landing page for the upcoming action camera. While this doesn’t confirm a U.S. launch, it’s a promising sign — especially since other recent DJI products lacked any official U.S. web presence.

Launch and Availability

The DJI Osmo Action 6 will officially launch on November 18, 2025. We’ll continue to track its release closely and update you on stock availability and where to buy the new action camera once it hits store shelves.

DJI has officially unveiled the Osmo Mobile 8, just nine months after launching the Osmo Mobile 7 and six months after the Osmo Mobile 7P. However, much like DJI’s other recent releases, the new smartphone gimbal won’t be officially available in the United States.

A More Capable and Smarter Gimbal

The Osmo Mobile 8 introduces several new features, including 360-degree pan rotation and pet tracking, along with improved subject recognition and stabilization. The gimbal features a powerful three-axis stabilization system designed to keep footage smooth even during fast movements.

One of the biggest upgrades is the unlimited 360-degree horizontal pan rotation, enabling creators to capture seamless panoramas and dynamic movements from any angle. Combined with DJI’s enhanced tracking system, this makes for a powerful creative tool for both casual users and content creators.

Smarter Subject Tracking

The Osmo Mobile 8 brings an upgraded ActiveTrack 7.0 system, which can lock onto a subject while allowing users to freely recompose their shots. The system intelligently recognizes multiple people in the frame, and with a single tap, it can switch focus tracking to another subject.

DJI also introduced a new Multifunctional Module that combines subject tracking for people and pets, audio reception, and a built-in fill light. The module supports the DJI Mic 3, Mic Mini, and Mic 2 transmitters, improving audio quality for vlogging and live streaming. The new tracking engine is also fast enough to follow quick-moving pets and athletes, making it suitable for sports or action recording.

Design and Usability

The Osmo Mobile 8 has an ergonomic, comfortable grip ideal for low-angle shooting. It includes a built-in extension rod and tripod, giving creators flexibility to shoot from a variety of perspectives. DJI’s magnetic quick-release phone clamp also returns, making it easy to attach and detach smartphones.

Gesture controls allow users to start or stop recording and adjust framing without touching their phone, while full DJI Mimo app integration provides quick access to editing and sharing tools.

The gimbal offers up to 10 hours of battery life and can even charge your smartphone via USB-C. It also supports the Apple Dock Kit, expanding connectivity options for iPhone users.

Pricing and Availability

The DJI Osmo Mobile 8 is now available for pre-order at B&H Photo for $149, while the Multifunctional Module is priced at $99. Like other DJI products not officially sold through DJI’s U.S. website this year, it can still be purchased from select retailers such as B&H and Amazon.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has moved one step closer to banning DJI drones in the United States, including the previously released Mavic 4 Pro. In a unanimous 3-0 vote, the agency approved new rules blocking future authorizations for devices using parts from companies on its “Covered List” — which will include DJI starting December 23, 2025.

FCC Moves to Retroactively Block Approvals

Under this new rule, the FCC will have the authority to retroactively revoke approvals for electronic devices, including DJI products. While DJI is not currently listed, the company will be automatically added to the Covered List on December 23, 2025, unless a U.S. national security agency initiates and completes a formal review beforehand.

So far, no such review has begun, raising concerns that DJI could face an automatic ban before the year ends.

DJI Responds to the FCC’s Decision

DJI has since issued a statement emphasizing that the ruling does not yet apply to the company.

“DJI is not included on the FCC’s Covered List, so this change to the rules does not currently apply to DJI,” said Adam Welsh, Head of Global Policy at DJI, in a statement to TechRadar.

“DJI has repeatedly expressed its readiness to take part in a transparent, timely, and fair audit through official channels. More than ten months have now passed with no sign that the process has begun. As the deadline approaches, we urge the U.S. government to start the mandated review or grant an extension to ensure a fair, evidence-based process that protects American jobs, safety, and innovation.”

Welsh added that while the company respects national security efforts, due process and transparency must guide any government action.

DJI Mavic 4 Pro and Mini 5 Pro Still Available at U.S. Retailers

Despite the looming ban, DJI drones are still available for purchase at major U.S. retailers — and restocks are happening.

The DJI Mavic 4 Pro, which was never officially launched in the U.S., is currently in stock at B&H Photo. The listings show the Standard, Fly More Combo, and Creator Combo configurations, all sold by a DJI Authorized Dealer, suggesting that supply channels remain active despite regulatory pressure.

The DJI Mini 5 Pro is also available for purchase, but mostly through third-party sellers on Amazon and Newegg, with some units shipping directly from Hong Kong. Prices fluctuate depending on the seller, but availability has improved in recent weeks.

What Happens if the Ban Takes Effect?

If DJI does end up on the FCC’s Covered List, consumers will not lose access to the drones they already own. The FCC clarified that it will not confiscate or disable existing DJI drones.

However, future purchases could become much more difficult, as retailers will be barred from selling new DJI products once the ban takes effect. This could lead to limited stock and inflated resale prices, a serious concern for both professional drone pilots and hobbyists.

Few Alternatives on the Market

DJI’s dominance in the drone space means alternatives are still scarce. The Insta360-led Antigravity A1 360 drone has yet to be released commercially, leaving U.S. drone pilots with limited non-DJI options heading into 2026.

If you’re looking to pick up a drone this Black Friday, now may be the time to do it — while stock is still available.
