Nikon fans have reason to celebrate this month as B&H Photo rolls out massive savings through Nikon’s latest rebate program. While other camera brands have raised prices in response to U.S. tariffs on Japanese imports, Nikon continues to counter the trend with generous rebates across its camera and lens lineup.

Depending on the product, buyers can save up to $2,000 on brand-new Nikon gear, from entry-level mirrorless cameras to professional-grade optics.

Nikon Cameras With Rebates

Among the standout deals on cameras this month are Nikon’s flagship mirrorless models. The Nikon Z8 currently comes with an $800 discount, while the Z9 sees a $700 price cut.

The Nikon Z6 III, a versatile hybrid camera designed for both photographers and videographers, is also part of the promotion. Even the recently launched Nikon Zf Silver Edition, with its retro-inspired design, is included in the rebate program — a rare early discount for such a new release.

AstrHori has announced a new 9mm F/2.8 ultra-wide lens designed for APS-C cameras, available for Nikon Z, Fujifilm X, Sony E, Canon RF, and Micro Four Thirds mounts. Priced at just $169, this lens brings ultra-wide-angle photography within reach for budget-conscious shooters.

Ultra-Wide Field of View with Minimal Distortion

The AstrHori 9mm F/2.8 offers a 111.4° field of view, equivalent to 13.5mm on full-frame, making it ideal for landscape, architecture, travel, and still-life photography. Despite its wide coverage, AstrHori says the lens delivers near-zero distortion, avoiding the fisheye look that typically comes with extreme wide angles.

“This non-fisheye wide-angle lens keeps distortion to a minimum, capturing ultra-wide views in a single shot. Architectural lines remain straight and true, delivering both efficiency and precision,” the company explains.

With a fast F/2.8 maximum aperture, the lens also performs well in low-light situations, making it suitable for night cityscapes and indoor environments.

Optical Design and Build Quality

The optical construction consists of 11 elements in 8 groups, including 2 aspherical and 3 extra-low dispersion (ED) elements to minimize chromatic aberrations and enhance sharpness. The seven-blade diaphragm supports smooth, rounded bokeh, while the F/2.8 to F/16 aperture range provides flexibility for different lighting conditions.

As a manual-focus-only lens, it’s well-suited to deliberate compositions — and with such a wide focal length, achieving sharp focus across the frame is relatively easy.

Despite its affordability, AstrHori has opted for a metal construction with a knurled focusing ring, engraved markings, and a built-in lens hood. The design is compact and lightweight, measuring just 307 grams, with a look that evokes a touch of vintage character.

Competing in the Budget Ultra-Wide Space

The AstrHori 9mm F/2.8 enters the same category as the Viltrox AF 9mm F/2.8, another affordable ultra-wide lens for APS-C cameras. While the Viltrox offers autofocus and a more compact design, AstrHori’s version emphasizes optical precision, minimal distortion, and durable metal construction.

In essence, the AstrHori 9mm is better suited for photo-centric users who prefer manual control and value fine image rendering, while the Viltrox 9mm Air caters to content creators seeking portability and autofocus convenience.

Pricing and Availability

The AstrHori 9mm F/2.8 is available now for $169 through major retailers, including B&H Photo. It supports Nikon Z, Fujifilm X, Sony E, Canon RF, and Micro Four Thirds mounts.

Alongside the launch of the EOS R6 Mark III, Canon has unveiled the new RF 45mm F/1.2 STM, a compact and lightweight standard prime lens for full-frame mirrorless cameras. Designed as a more affordable alternative to the high-end RF 50mm f/1.4L VCM and RF 50mm f/1.2L USM, this lens offers impressive low-light performance and shallow depth of field at a fraction of the price.

Compact Design and Bright Aperture

Priced at just $469.99, the RF 45mm F/1.2 STM is aimed at photographers who want a fast, character-rich prime without the premium cost. The bright f/1.2 maximum aperture makes it ideal for shooting in low-light environments like concerts, events, or indoor portraits, while also delivering pleasing background separation for creative effects.

Canon describes the RF 45mm F/1.2 STM as a lens with “character,” implying that it delivers a softer, more organic rendering rather than a technically perfect, ultra-sharp look. This aesthetic quality should appeal to photographers who prefer a more expressive image style.

Optical Design and Build

The optical construction features nine elements in seven groups, including a single PMo aspherical element—a plastic-molded optic that helps reduce costs and size without overly compromising quality. Canon notes that image correction is handled largely in-camera, which is expected for lenses in this price category.

Despite its wide aperture, the lens remains remarkably compact at 75mm in length and lightweight at 346g. It also accepts 67mm filters, keeping accessory compatibility simple and affordable.

Autofocus and Handling

Autofocus is driven by a stepping motor (STM) with magnetic detection, offering smooth and accurate focusing for stills. However, Canon acknowledges that the STM system can be slightly noisier than the premium VCM autofocus motors found in its L-series lenses, which may be noticeable during video recording.

Pricing and Availability

The Canon RF 45mm F/1.2 STM will be available in December 2025 for $469.99 and is now open for pre-order from major retailers.

It’s an exciting time for Canon fans. The company has just released a teaser for what appears to be its next major camera announcement, set for November 6 at 1 a.m. ET. The premiere will stream live on the Canon USA YouTube channel.

The teaser image shows the back of a camera mounted on a tripod with the tagline “Elevate Your Image.” The phrase, paired with the visual, hints that Canon may be gearing up to release a photography-focused camera, possibly shifting attention back to stills after a string of video-centric releases like the EOS R50V and Cinema EOS C50.

Which Camera Will Be Announced?

Canon hasn’t revealed any specific details about the upcoming model, but the teaser’s tagline and composition strongly suggest a stills-oriented camera.

When do Black Friday lens deals start?

Camera and Lens deals typically begin surfacing in mid-November, as major photo retailers look to get ahead of the competition. Expect to see “early Black Friday” discounts from Amazon, B&H Photo, Adorama, and WEX Photo Video well before November 28, with the strongest price drops hitting during the long weekend and extending through Cyber Monday (December 1).

Is Black Friday the best time to buy a new lens?

Yes, Black Friday offers the deepest lens discounts of the year. You can expect anywhere from 10–30% off current models. For seasoned photographers and beginners alike, that can mean hundreds of dollars saved on pro-grade optics.

Popular all-rounders like the Canon RF 24–70mm f/2.8L, Sony 70–200mm f/2.8 GM II, or Nikon Z 85mm f/1.8 S regularly feature in these sales, as do compact primes and travel zooms. Third-party brands such as Sigma and Tamron often push aggressive promotions too — sometimes offering comparable image quality for significantly less.

You’ll find lens discounts across a range of major outlets this season, including:

  • B&H Photo
  • Adorama
  • Amazon
  • WEX Photo Video (UK)

Fujifilm has unveiled the FUJINON XC13-33mm F/3.5-6.3 OIS, a new compact zoom lens designed to complement the just-announced X-T30 III. The lens becomes the smallest and lightest zoom in the FUJIFILM X Series lineup, offering a versatile range in a highly portable form factor.

A Compact and Versatile Everyday Zoom

“Our FUJINON XC lenses have always represented a perfect entry point into the X Mount lens ecosystem for still-centric creators,” said Victor Ha, Vice President, Electronic Imaging and Optical Devices Divisions, FUJIFILM North America Corporation. “FUJINON XC13-33mm F/3.5-6.3 OIS is no different. It is perfect for those everyday moments because of its optical image stabilization and a versatile zoom range, which is ideal for everything from the big picture all the way down to the smaller details.”

Covering a 20–50mm equivalent focal range, the XC13-33mm is well-suited for landscapes, street photography, travel, and portraits. The built-in 4-stop Optical Image Stabilization mechanism ensures sharp handheld shots, even at slower shutter speeds.

Optical Design and Performance

Inside, the lens features 10 elements in 9 groups, including four aspherical and three extra-low dispersion (ED) elements to suppress distortion, field curvature, and chromatic aberration. The 9-blade aperture design helps render smooth, rounded bokeh — a rarity among entry-level XC zoom lenses.

Autofocus performance is also a highlight, achieving focus in as little as 0.025 seconds with high precision. The lens can focus as close as 0.2 meters across the zoom range, offering up to 0.25x magnification at the telephoto end — ideal for close-ups and detail-oriented shots.

Smallest and Lightest in the X Series Zoom Lineup

Weighing just 125 grams and measuring 37.5mm in length, the XC13-33mm is the smallest compact zoom lens Fujifilm has ever made. Its retractable design makes it even easier to carry and store, making it a great companion for travel photographers and everyday shooters alike.

Pricing and Availability

The FUJINON XC13-33mm F/3.5-6.3 OIS will be available in late January 2026 for $399.95 USD. The lens is now available for pre-order from major retailers, including B&H Photo.

Tamron is expanding its all-in-one zoom lineup with the announcement of the 25-200mm F/2.8-5.6 Di III VXD G2 for Sony E-mount. Designed as a versatile lens for travel and everyday shooting, the new model updates the company’s popular 28-200mm F/2.8-5.6 Di III RXD with improved optics, autofocus, and ergonomics.

The 25-200mm G2 enters a competitive space with Sigma’s newly released 20-200mm F/2.8-5.6 DG DN Contemporary. Both lenses are targeting photographers who want flexibility without changing lenses. The new Tamron lens has a larger maximum aperture, while the Sigma zoom offers a wider field of view.

A New Generation of All-in-One Zoom

According to Tamron, the new lens “combines portability with uncompromising performance,” and aims to “support creative expression for everyone from beginners to professionals.”

Built for full-frame cameras, the 25-200mm covers everything from wide-angle landscapes to medium telephoto portraits. The optical design features 18 elements in 14 groups, including special elements to control aberrations, and uses Tamron’s BBAR-G2 coating to minimize ghosting and flare for clear, contrast-rich images. A 9-blade aperture promises smooth, natural-looking bokeh and subject separation.

Autofocus performance has also been upgraded thanks to Tamron’s VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor, which delivers fast, accurate, and nearly silent focusing—ideal for both photo and video applications. The lens also supports subject tracking and offers impressive close-up performance with a 1:1.9 magnification ratio and minimum focusing distance of 0.16m at the wide end.

Built for the Road

Tamron has given the G2 a refreshed design with moisture resistance, a Fluorine-coated front element, and a more ergonomic grip for extended use. The lens supports Direct Manual Focus, AF Assist, and in-camera lens corrections, and is fully compatible with Tamron Lens Utility software for firmware updates and customization.

Even with its fast F2.8 aperture at the 25mm wide end, Tamron has managed to keep the lens impressively compact and lightweight. Measuring 121.5mm (4.8in) long and weighing only 575g (20.3oz), it’s an ideal travel companion for photographers on the go. The lens also accepts standard 67mm filters.

Pricing and Availability

The Tamron 25-200mm F/2.8-5.6 Di III VXD G2 is available for pre-order now at B&H Photo for $899 and will begin shipping on November 20, 2025.

Interestingly, Tamron will continue to offer the original 28-200mm F/2.8-5.6 Di III RXD, which remains in its lineup at $799. Earlier this month, the company also expanded its Nikon Z-mount lineup with the 70-180mm F/2.8 Di III VC VXD G2, completing its fast zoom trinity for Nikon mirrorless users.

A Complimentary Lens to the Tamron 25-200mm F/2.8-5.6 Di III VXD G2

If you’re planning to pick up the Tamron 25-200mm G2, consider pairing it with the Tamron 16-30mm f/2.8 Di III VXD G2. This lens covers the ultra-wide to wide-angle range, perfectly complementing the 25-200mm’s versatile zoom reach. Together, they form a well-rounded kit that spans the most commonly used focal lengths across virtually all types of photography.

In our hands-on review, editor David Schloss praised the 16-30mm G2 as a “masterpiece” for its optical performance and handling. You can watch the full review video below.

Viltrox has officially announced the AF 50mm F/1.4 PRO FE, confirming the details of the lens that appeared in an Amazon listing earlier this week. The lens is now available for purchase from major retailers for $549.

Just yesterday, reports surfaced after a product listing for the 50mm f/1.4 appeared on Amazon without any official confirmation from the company. While Viltrox had previously teased the lens during photography trade shows, the lack of an immediate announcement left many photographers uncertain about its availability. Fortunately, Viltrox has now made the lens official and provided full technical details.

Design, Autofocus, and Handling

Following in the footsteps of the well-received 85mm F/1.4 PRO, the new 50mm F/1.4 PRO FE maintains a similar premium design. It measures 85 x 111mm and weighs around 800 grams, identical to the 85mm version. This ensures easy lens swapping when mounted on a gimbal without requiring balance adjustments.

The lens is constructed with 15 elements in 11 groups, including one ultra-aspherical element, three extra-low dispersion (ED) elements, and eight high refractive (HR) elements. Combined, they help minimize chromatic aberration, distortion, and flare. An 11-blade aperture diaphragm produces smooth, circular bokeh that’s ideal for portraits and video work.

The AF 50mm F/1.4 PRO FE is equipped with Viltrox’s HyperVCM motor, offering fast, accurate, and nearly silent autofocus performance. The system is optimized for both photo and video use, with minimal focus breathing and precise subject tracking.

The lens supports full-time manual focus override and includes professional-grade controls, such as a customizable function button, focus mode switch, and declickable aperture ring — all features that filmmakers and hybrid shooters will appreciate.

Build Quality and Features

Viltrox has equipped the lens with a metal barrel and a rubber gasket for weather sealing, providing protection against moisture and dust. The front element includes a fluorine coating that repels fingerprints, water, and dirt, while the HD Nano multi-layer coating minimizes ghosting and flare. The lens also includes a USB-C port for firmware updates, ensuring long-term compatibility with future camera releases.

Pricing and Availability

The Viltrox AF 50mm F/1.4 PRO FE is priced at $549 and is currently available exclusively for the Sony E mount. It can now be purchased from B&H Photo, Amazon, and the official Viltrox online store.

Nikon is expanding its APS-C (DX) mirrorless ecosystem with the introduction of two new lenses designed for creators who want fast apertures and versatile focal lengths in compact packages. The NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm f/2.8 VR and the NIKKOR Z DX MC 35mm f/1.7 are both set to launch in late October and are now available for pre-order.

The NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm f/2.8 VR serves as a premium standard zoom for Nikon’s DX-format Z cameras, offering a 24–75mm full-frame equivalent focal range. Its constant f/2.8 maximum aperture makes it ideal for travel, portraits, events, and low-light photography.

The lens includes Nikon’s Vibration Reduction (VR) system, which provides up to 5 stops of image stabilization for handheld shooting. Inside, the optical construction consists of 12 elements in 11 groups, including one ED and two aspherical elements designed to reduce chromatic aberration and distortion. The nine-bladed aperture produces smooth, natural-looking bokeh.

Autofocus is powered by a stepping motor (STM) for quiet, responsive focusing, making it suitable for both stills and video. Nikon has also optimized the lens to suppress focus breathing for more cinematic video output.

Physically, the lens weighs just 330 grams and measures 88mm in length. It’s dust- and moisture-resistant, and includes a customizable control ring that can be assigned to adjust focus, aperture, exposure compensation, or ISO.

When paired with the Nikon Z50 II, the Hi-Res Zoom function expands the range to the equivalent of 16–100mm, maintaining a constant f/2.8 aperture with no loss of resolution — perfect for hybrid shooters who switch between stills and video.

The NIKKOR Z DX MC 35mm f/1.7 is a compact prime that doubles as a macro lens, offering a maximum reproduction ratio of 0.67x, which effectively delivers lifesize magnification when accounting for the DX crop factor.

The 35mm focal length provides a natural perspective similar to the human eye, making it ideal for street photography, portraits, and general use. With a fast f/1.7 maximum aperture, it’s well-suited for low-light shooting and achieving shallow depth of field.

Optically, the lens is constructed with 8 elements in 7 groups, including one aspherical ED element that helps minimize chromatic aberrations. It can focus as close as 0.16m, with a working distance of 7cm, making it excellent for close-up and detail shots.

The autofocus system uses a stepping motor for near-silent operation, while its internal focusing design ensures the lens length remains constant during focusing — especially useful when shooting on gimbals or tripods. Like the zoom, it also includes a customizable control ring and weather-sealed build.

Pricing and Availability

The NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm f/2.8 VR will be available in late October 2025 for a suggested retail price of $899.95, while the NIKKOR Z DX MC 35mm f/1.7 will retail for $449.95.

Both lenses are now open for pre-order from Nikon-authorized retailers, including B&H and Adorama.
